As some of you may be aware, the Alberta Provincial government has adjusted some of the restrictions regarding worship service gatherings. I am absolutely thrilled at the prospect of being able to worship once again with you. However, it will not be a simple return to church as we remember. There will be ongoing adjustments and it will be a journey. Some measures we will have in place temporarily, some measures may be indefinite. Through it all I am confident that we will work together with compassion and patience for each other as we navigate this process.
I have been sent some guidelines from the Alberta Government regarding protocols for reopening. The Leadership Team will continue working over the coming weeks and months to ensure that we are working to the best of our ability to abide by guidelines provided for us. The following are the aspects that may be most informative to you should you consider return to physical presence in our worship services:
-Max participants will be 50 people. The service will begin at 10:30AM on Sunday morning. Please arrive early enough (or even slightly late) so that we can allow distancing during entering and leaving the building. In the event that more than 50 people are in attendance, we will have to stagger our worship experience.
- Anyone who is vulnerable, not ready, or is otherwise uncertain about attending is WELCOME to stay home.
We will continue to provide recorded services and have them made available each week on the Build Your Own Service page of this site.
You are missed and I understand you may feel eager to return to physical presence in worship, but there is no urgency to attend right away. You can continue to worship with us from home, and it may even be beneficial to chose to do so in light of the max number of participants.
-Those who are sick are strongly encouraged to stay home. Not just those with covid symptoms, but if you are feeling unwell PLEASE stay home.

If you chose to attend the service- the following are current measures that may take place:
- Congregational singing will not take place during the Sunday service. The Worship Team will prerecord singalong music to be used from home or an individual space.
- There will be no lunches, coffee, or other hot beverages served. You are welcome to bring your own to enjoy during the service if you wish.
- There will not be any kids programming and the craft room and toy room will not be available to use. The cry room will be open for use, but may be limited to one family at a time. The shelf at the back of the sanctuary will not have shared supplies, but individual single use coloring supplies will be available.
- Visiting and conversation will be encouraged before and after the service, but there will not be any greeting time during the service and distancing will be encouraged.
- Tables will be available for households to sit together. Chairs will be spaced apart and we ask that you chose to only sit close to those who are in your same household.
- An offering plate will not be passed, instead, a donation box will be available for offerings, tithes, and donations.
- Hand sanitizing material will be provided in the foyer and at the back of the sanctuary.
- It will be a personal choice for people to wear a mask. It will not be compulsory nor will it be discouraged. Please do your part to make the best choice for yourself and to respect the choice of others in this regard.
- The utilized spaces will be cleaned between uses.
- There is a need for volunteers to maintain these standards during this time of measured precaution. Greeters who can assist in entrance and exist procedures, maintenance volunteers, and also communication volunteers are all very valuable at this time. Please let me know if there is a way that you are interested and feel comfortable in participating in this process.
